SCORING AND THE CEFR
It is interesting to note that the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is an international standard for describing language ability. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. This makes it easy for anyone involved in language teaching and testing, such as teachers or learners, to see the level of different qualifications. It also means that employers and educational institutions can easily compare our qualifications to other exams in their country.

It is evident that the CEFR is becoming more prominent in how the institutions all over the world consider the language ability scoring. Hence, it becomes imperative for us to provide you with our scoring system and how to interpret it in CEFR terms.
SCORING
In the light of the recent improvements made, in the conduct of the test and the evaluation of the results, we hereby present to you the new score sheet that we use in grading the students.
Here is an explanation of each level:
A1: Beginner
At the A1 level, a person can understand and use very basic phrases and expressions related to everyday topics. They can introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions, and interact in a simple way.
A2: Elementary
At the A2 level, a person can understand and use simple sentences related to common topics, such as shopping, travel, and work. They can describe their experiences and express opinions on familiar topics.
B1: Intermediate
At the B1 level, a person can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. They can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
B2: Upper-Intermediate
At the B2 level, a person can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization. They can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
C1: Advanced
At the C1 level, a person can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognize implicit meaning. They can express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
C2: Proficient
At the C2 level, a person can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. They can summarize information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. They can express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.
In summary, the CEFR levels provide a clear and standardized way to measure language proficiency. Understanding your CEFR level can help you set goals for improving your English skills and help employers and academic institutions evaluate your language proficiency in a standardized way.
